Congratulations to Ghassan Alaboud (Montreal), Geneviève Leclair (Montreal) and Matthew Otto (Toronto) who will participate in person in the final round of the selection process, which will take place in MacMillan Theatre in the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto starting at 3pm on Monday, March 29th, 2010. Jurists will be Victor Feldbrill, Tania Miller, Alain Trudel and David Briskin (chair). All finalists will rehearse the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra for between 30 and 45 minutes in selections drawn from Hector Berlioz’ Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14.
Immediately following the final round, the jury will determine the winner, though it may also withhold its recommendation if it considers no applicant is of sufficiently high artistic standard. The jury’s determination will be final and not subject to appeal.
